NOVAWALK, a start-up from IIT Indore makes its way to bring in the latest innovation in the healthcare technology. This start-up is a lightweight AI powered prosthetic leg, which will be able to capture the users motion of walking in real time, providing a natural walking experience to the user. The AI-powered wearable that restores mobility to individuals with paralysis, age-related immobility, or other physical impairments.

By reducing the gap between affordability and advanced prosthetic solutions, NovaWalk aims to make high-quality mechanical prosthetics accessible to all. Unlike conventional prosthetics, NovaWalk’s device leverages smart sensors and the latest technology, including machine learning algorithms, to provide enhanced movement efficiency and improved balance.

Growing Recognition and Investments in Medical Innovation

NovaWalk’s groundbreaking prosthetic solution has already attracted attention from leading healthcare technology institutions and investors, paving the way for mass production. The startup is actively collaborating with rehabilitation centers to conduct trials, ensuring its technology meets the needs of diverse users.

Meanwhile, another promising technology startup, Charak DT, is developing innovative diagnostic tools at IIT Indore. On Monday, both NovaWalk and Charak DT were among 15 startups that secured a total funding of Rs 5 crore to accelerate advancements in healthcare technology. The funding announcement took place at the Habitat Centre in Delhi, where Union Minister of Science and Technology Jitendra Singh and Indore MP Shankar Lalwani awarded investment grants of up to Rs 1 crore per startup.

What sets these startups apart is their unique synergy between engineering and medicine. Led by a team of IIT professors, engineers, and AIIMS Bhopal doctors, these ventures highlight the growing convergence of technology and healthcare, shaping the future of medical accessibility.

With such newest innovations emerging from Indore, the city is rapidly cementing its place as a hub for latest technology in healthcare, setting new benchmarks for the global prosthetic and medical industries.
